Position Overview

Join a team of dedicated engineering professionals at Coffman Engineers' Anchorage office, where we prioritize quality and collaboration. We are currently looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to contribute to the design of commercial, institutional, and industrial structures. Candidates with a decade or more of experience who thrive in a cooperative environment are encouraged to consider this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct structural analysis, design, and detailing for a variety of commercial and industrial projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers from other disciplines, clients, and contractors to produce a cohesive and high-quality set of structural drawings.
  • Work closely with designers, drafters, modelers, and fellow engineers to implement structural designs.
  • Engage with the project team to ensure seamless communication throughout the design process.
  • Coordinate with contractors during construction to achieve successful outcomes with minimal complications.
  • Manage projects to ensure profitability while maintaining strong client relationships.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or architectural engineering, or a related field in structural engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
  • Over 10 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in designing with structural steel and reinforced concrete for various structures.
  • Experience with structural analysis software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in civil or architectural engineering, or a related structural engineering field.
  • Structural Engineer (SE) registration.
  • Experience in designing with light gauge steel, CMU, and timber.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
