Job Description:
The role of the Project Manager/Estimator is crucial in winning Earthwork construction projects.

After winning projects, the Project Manager/Estimator oversees all aspects from beginning to end, including scheduling, cost management, progress monitoring, compliance, and client interaction.

A Day in the Life at Veit: Pursues bid opportunities through client connections, networking, public/private postings, assigned bids, and other channels. Builds and maintains positive relationships with current clients while establishing connections with potential future clients.

Estimates projects by reviewing plans, calculating quantities, obtaining quotes, and creating bid submissions. Organizes pre-construction meetings for awarded projects to ensure coordination between project managers, field staff, and office support. Collaborates with operations team to determine construction methods and staffing requirements. Obtains permits and licenses as needed. Tracks labor, equipment, and material costs.

Manages billing in coordination with Project Coordinators to ensure accurate invoicing, timely payables, collections, and approval of accounts payable, while also handling over/under billing monthly. Ensures compliance with EEO/DBE project requirements. Ensures project completion within budget and schedule, prioritizing safety. Addresses any project issues promptly.

Seeks approval for project change orders and manages changes to maintain profitability. Collaborates with project owner/general contractor for safe and timely project completion. Adjusts project scope and timelines as necessary. What You'll Need: Bachelor's Degree; 5-10+ years' experience; proficiency in Construction Bidding and Project Management software. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Experience with MS Teams is a plus.

Excellent communication skills for interactions with various stakeholders. Ability to present information effectively to different audiences. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to build and maintain client relationships. Adherence to company policies and procedures. What Will Set You Apart: Familiarity with Viewpoint Vista and HCSS construction software.

Other Requirements: Valid Driver's License, clean Motor Vehicle Record, pass a drug screening, willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight stays. Physical Demands: Requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods, computer use in office settings, occasional exposure to high noise levels.

Work Environment: Primarily office-based with occasional jobsite visits. Works alone and with others. Exposure to various work environments and conditions. May be exposed to machinery, odors, dust, pressurized equipment, and electrical hazards. Requires flexibility with weather conditions.
