We have an opening for a role in Technical Support and Systems Administration at MFC, focusing on supporting DoD critical programs on engineering networks and special test equipment in labs.


  • Workstation administration on varied networks like Windows 7/10, Windows Server based domains
  • Responsible for cyber compliance, upgrades, and patching of operating systems (Windows/Linux)
  • Manage hardware, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance across different architectures
  • Ensure application integrity and availability, coordinating installations, upgrades, and customer support in classified areas.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain IT hardware (PCs, printers, laptops, etc.).
  • Implement security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures.
  • Full-time onsite role in Troy, AL, working in restricted areas most of the day.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance is a must
  • Ability to handle security clearances and customers' requirements
  • Obtain or possess a valid IAT Level II or III DoD Approved 8140 (DoDD 8570) certification like Security+ within 6 months of starting
  • Knowledge and experience in workstation administration of Microsoft Windows in an Active Directory setup
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Proven business acumen to manage multiple projects balancing technical needs with business requirements
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to build relationships
  • Willingness to work off-shift hours occasionally and travel as needed
Desired Skills:

  • Preferred Security+ or other IAT Level II/III security certification
  • Experience in building, operating, and securing operating system configurations and networks
  • Proficiency in scripting for system administration and automation (e.g., Ansible, Python, BASH, Perl, Batch, VBScript, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with managing Trellix Endpoint Security on Windows
  • Expertise in technical documentation creation, system design, and documentation
  • Experience in maintaining Windows baselines and security settings
  • Innovative problem solver with the ability to implement new technical solutions
  • Knowledge of implementing technical requirements across multiple operating systems
  • Understanding of networking concepts and engineering software
  • Familiarity with FlexLM and license mechanisms
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a US government security clearance, applicants must be US Citizens.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
