The Role:
The Associate Education Consultant will play a crucial role in the newly established Center for Literacy Research and Reading Success, supporting various Center initiatives and acting as a regional point of contact for local and regional educational entities.

The CSDE serves as the administrative branch of the Connecticut State Board of Education, ensuring equal opportunities and excellence in education for all Connecticut students.
Purpose of Job Class:
In the Departments of Aging and Disability Services, Education, and the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System, this position contributes to planning and executing programs to enhance education in the state.
Examples of Duties:
- Serve as a liaison to Local Education Agencies (LEAs)
- Provide leadership in project management related to the science of reading
- Support LEAs in intensive reading instruction programs
- Manage grants and activities for literacy projects
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:
- Considerable knowledge of educational philosophy and methods
- Teaching skill
- Report preparation and effective communication with others
Minimum Qualifications - General Experience:
An earned advanced degree and five (5) years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training approved by the appropriate authorities
Special Requirements:
Some positions may require an appropriate certificate issued by the State Board of Education
