General Summary of Position
The Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services plans, directs, manages, and coordinates activities for the Behavioral Health Service including integrating behavioral health services through the acute care and outpatient medical/surgical areas at MWHC. This role reports to the Vice President of Professional Services and contributes to the strategic and operational interests of MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Responsible for fiscal and operational performance, serving as the business/financial officer, overseeing various operations, and acting as the Relationship Manager for the behavioral healthcare management company contract.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, and directs the programs and operations of the psychiatry departments and programs ensuring alignment with overall hospital and MedStar strategic goals.
- Manages fiscal planning, results, and control, developing budgets and ensuring fiscal targets are met.
- Directs preparation of administrative policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Manages the Signet Healthcare contract for MWHC psychiatric services, overseeing budgets, revenue cycle, and more.
- Assists in physician hiring processes and ensures adequate coverage for department services.
- Coordinates strategic planning and new program development within various service lines.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and represents the Behavioral Health Service in meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required. Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology preferred.
Experience: 5-7 years of healthcare management experience with hospital-based services required. Management experience in hospital-based Behavioral Health preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: Licensed Psychologist preferred, or LICSW, or LPC preferred.
