Accounting Director

Our client is a successful and prominent specialty pharmaceutical firm that is looking for an Associate Director of Accounting. The office is located in Parsippany, NJ.

The position would oversee the accounting department focusing on ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial statements. This includes general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.

The associate director will have several direct reports and work to allocate tasks evenly across the team. The position is responsible for driving team performance, developing skills of each team member, and a focus on establishing and maintaining a strong system of internal controls, process efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Requirements

  • the monthly close planning, execution, and monthly reconciliation reviews
  • and deliver the annual audited financial statements prepared under US GAAP
  • and coordinate activity to support the preparation and filing of a multitude of federal, state and local tax returns
  • department policies, practices, and procedures
  • in the monthly/quarterly financial reporting
  • SME owner for ERP processes, controls, and issue resolutions
  • treasury functions, handling all wires, bank communication, reconciliation, and ACH setup and review
  • payroll processing and maintenance, administration of third party payroll provider
  • business resource for internal business partners to help drive business objectives and solve issues

Skills

The Ideal candidate would have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience along with a proven track record of effectively managing others. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, strong leadership abilities, and in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

  • public audit experience, preferably within the life sciences
  • knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills including accounting, analysis, and extreme attention to detail
  • to manage multiple priorities, set and meet deadlines
  • in leveraging technology to optimize financial operations

Education:

  • degree in Accounting, Finance or other related fields; Master's degree preferred
  • or CMA preferred, but not required
