Job Description:
The Assistant Director, Golf & Tennis Center reports to the Associate Director, Facilities & Operations and is responsible for ensuring the smooth and engaging operation of the center within Well-Being & Recreation to promote university-wide well-being.
Key responsibilities include overseeing facility operations, maintenance, personnel, risk management, sponsorships, and revenue-generating programs and events.
The Assistant Director supervises staff and student employees to provide a safe and inclusive environment with exceptional service.
Staff Development, Teamwork & Inclusion:
The Assistant Director hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff, fostering teamwork, accountability, and integrity.
They focus on continuous professional development, enhance workplace productivity, and promote diversity and inclusion.
Resource Administration, Management & Stewardship:
The role involves managing university resources efficiently, developing budgets, supervising inventory, and analyzing fiscal data to ensure financial strength.
Patron Engagement, Program & Business Development:
The Assistant Director creates revenue-generating programs and partnerships to support facility operations and enhance patron engagement.
They maintain effective communication with various user groups and handle inquiries and conflicts professionally.
Department & Student Affairs:
Actively contributing to the Department of Well-Being & Recreation, the Assistant Director promotes collaboration, diversity, and inclusivity while staying informed about current trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Recreation, or Sports Administration
- 3-5 years of related work experience
- 1-2 years of management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business, Recreation, or Sports Administration
