The ideal candidate will possess the ability to lead multi-discipline engineering teams through development of solutions for complex mission requirements, the experience to productively interface directly with customers, and a comprehensive understanding of design for manufacturing.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Lead large team efforts through design, development, prototype fabrication, and verification testing of unique specialty products
  • Interface with customers to ascertain requirements and report progress
  • Perform detailed system and sub-system analysis, simulation, and design work as required
  • Work with complicated mechanical system concepts and detailed designs to properly determine the necessary design tradeoffs
  • Interface with external vendors to procure parts and components required to complete development efforts
  • Participate in the assembly, system test planning, and system test procedure generation
  • Adequately document processes, procedures, and testing using structured formats. Minimum Qualifications
  • 9 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 4 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
  • 5 years of experience in hardware design in Defense/Aerospace/ IC fields
  • U.S. Citizen with active TS/SCI level security clearance
  • Experience leading projects in a technical-lead or project-lead capacity
  • Experience working directly with customers to evaluate needs and extract and/or develop project or product requirements
  • Expert experience using 3-D CAD software for modeling of complex assemblies, detailed design, and realistic rendering and generation of detailed engineering drawings
  • Experience working with Product Data Management (PDM) software for configuration and revision management
  • Demonstrable skill in design for manufacturing
  • Ability to clearly convey design concepts to peers, customers, and management team
  • Strong knowledge of raw materials, prototyping and production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective fabrication and manufacture of electromechanical devices
  • Working knowledge of project management principles, processes, and practices Preferred Requirements Experience working on multi-discipline design teams (systems, electrical, software) Working knowledge of RF systems, RF testing, and antenna theory Experience performing structural, thermal, and fluid analyses using computational software such as FEA and CFD Working knowledge of current and novel technologies related to mechanical engineering design, fabrication, and testing Ability to study industrial processes to determine where and how our products can be madePhysical RequirementsOffice, industrial or shipboard environment.
