DEPARTMENT: Performance and Campus Operations

OVERVIEW

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (LCPA), one of Lincoln Center's eleven resident organizations, serves a unique role on the Lincoln Center campus, serving as the landlord of the sprawling 16-acre complex, overseeing day-to-day operations, security, and maintenance. This also includes the management of major construction and renovation projects, space rentals, and coordination of outdoor public events.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities Maintenance, this position will be responsible for the upkeep and proper functionality of all electrical equipment and systems campus-wide. The Electrician works under the supervision of management and is required to work on all assigned tasks.

Lincoln Center is a 24x7 operation. The Electrician position is a Full time position (40 hours per week) with the potential of overtime and will work on a variety of different shifts as operational needs require.

Please note: this is NOT a supervisory role.

PRIMARY?RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring the proper functionality of all electrical units and systems in all campus facilities.
  • Ensuring and completing scheduled checks for spotting any malfunctions or service needs.
  • Appropriately using and handling of electrical testing and repair tools and equipment.
  • Maintaining records of all electrical inventories and placing orders as needed.
  • Keeping a log of all electrical repair and maintenance work completed.
  • Coordinating work functions with co-workers and other organizational departments.
  • Following, and complying with all safety norms and standard operating procedures of working.
  • Completing all tasks as assigned by the supervising manager and directors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Local 3 Union Member
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years of applicable professional experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify technical malfunctions in electrical units
  • Sound understanding of handling and using electrical repair tools and equipment
  • Ability to effectively manage time and workload, and coordinate work functions with co-workers

Additional Qualifications

  • Must be able to climb up, and stand on ladders on a regular, daily basis.
  • Must be able to work at high heights on a Genie Scissor Lift, going up to 200 feet in the air.
  • Must be able to complete certain work tasks in many different positions: crouching, sitting on knees, lying on stomach and lying on back.
