Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Construction Inspector to be based in Colorado Springs, CO.

Job Responsibilities Include

Provides support to the Cheyenne Mountain AFS (CMAFS) by providing Quality Assurance of the construction contractor's performance, specifically:

  • Adherence to applicable drawings and specifications
  • Compliance with all Quality Control criteria and testing
  • Reviewing, evaluating, and advising the Cheyenne Mountain AFS on the validity, accuracy, and reasonableness of contractor generated schedule and cost impact
  • Assists the CMAFS in evaluating and approving contractor submittals
  • Assists the CMAFS in evaluating and responding to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Maintains daily inspection records
  • Provides a monthly report to the AECOM supervisor to meet reporting requirements to CMAFS

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus six (6) years of experience in construction or construction inspection of vertical structures (buildings) or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
  • Valid Driver's License- MVR Required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience specific to facility interior renovations encompassing mechanical, electrical, structural, plumbing, fire suppression, life/health/safety, and finishes as typically arise in such projects
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a SECRET level DOD security clearance
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Experience reviewing construction cost estimates in RS Means
  • Experience working with construction scheduling systems (Microsoft Project and Primavera for example)
  • Able to demonstrate familiarity with OSHA standards relevant to construction site safety
  • Able to access confined and restricted spaces to accomplish inspection activities typical to those encountered in a closed, construction environment
  • Experience with high and low voltage systems, mechanical and HVAC systems, fire suppression systems and structural systems.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $32.00/hour - $50.00/hour.
