Job Details:Mercer University is searching for a Director of Equity and Compliance on the Macon, Georgia campus.Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President and Director of Title IX, the Director shares responsibility for the University's overall compliance with Title IX, Title VII, Title VI, and VAWA and for advancing the University's training/education and ongoing awareness. The Director facilitates the University's commitment to a working and learning environment free from discrimination, including discrimination or harassment based on race, color, national or ethnic origin, disability, marital status, veteran status, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or a medical condition related to pregnancy or childbirth), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, age, or religion (except in limited circumstances where religious preference is permitted by law), or any other protected status or characteristic as defined by law. The Director will assist the Assistant Vice President and Director of Title IX in overseeing and implementing actions to comply with all aspects of discrimination and harassment, including investigations, record keeping, training, and education.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or other related field and three years of professional experience working in higher education and/or directly related experience are required. Prior directly related experience could include working with Title IX directly, Student Affairs, Student Conduct, and/or Housing and Residence Life. With a master's degree, two years of the same professional experience will be considered.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier.

- Understanding of discrimination laws.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively in public settings.
- Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to interact with a diverse population and maintain a composed, positive attitude in time of crisis.
