Technician, Repair Shop:

The role of a Technician in our Repair Shop is crucial for ensuring that musical instruments are repaired efficiently and effectively, allowing musicians to continue playing without any issues.

A Technician may focus on a specific type of instrument or work on a variety of instruments.



Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Repair rental instruments promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure that each instrument is fixed according to established quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records for production reporting.
  • Complete any additional tasks as assigned.


About Music & Arts: Music & Arts was founded by Benjamin O'Brien in a small house in Bethesda, MD. Since its establishment in 1952, Music & Arts has been dedicated to providing printed music, music lessons, dance lessons, and art supplies. Over the years, the company has expanded nationwide and is now a part of the Guitar Center enterprise with numerous retail stores and affiliate locations.


Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or diploma from an accredited repair school.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Experience working on musical instruments daily for at least 2 years.
  • Skilled in repairing brass, woodwind, percussion, or orchestral instruments efficiently.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years of daily work experience with musical instruments.
  • Advanced understanding and ability to repair brass, woodwind, percussion, or orchestral instruments efficiently.
Special Attributes:
  • Goal oriented.
  • Ability to produce quality repairs efficiently.
  • Capability to take direction from the shop manager.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical skills in instrument diagnosis and repair.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Comfortable working closely with others.
