JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Amazon Product Development Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and launching new products on the Amazon marketplace. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet market demands, exceed customer expectations, and drive growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in the Amazon marketplace. Analyze competitors and customer feedback to inform product development strategies.
  • Product Conceptualization: Generate innovative product ideas based on market insights, consumer needs, and company objectives. Collaborate with internal teams to refine concepts and create product specifications.
  • Supplier Management: Source and vet potential suppliers or manufacturers to produce high-quality products at competitive prices. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliability.
  • Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end product development process, from design and prototyping to production and quality assurance. Coordinate with suppliers and external partners to ensure timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
  • Listing Optimization: Work closely with the marketing and content teams to optimize product listings on Amazon. Write compelling product descriptions, create engaging images and videos, and implement SEO strategies to maximize visibility and conversion rates.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor product performance metrics, including sales, reviews, and customer feedback. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that products comply with all relevant regulations and industry standards, including safety, labeling, and packaging requirements. Stay informed about changes in regulations and proactively address compliance issues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, operations, and customer service, to align product development efforts with overall business objectives. Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in new product development in the e-commerce or consumer goods industry.
  • Deep understanding of the Amazon marketplace, including search algorithms, ranking factors, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build relationships with external partners.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards relevant to product development and manufacturing.
  • Experience with Amazon Seller Central or Vendor Central.
