About the Job and the Company: At Loyola University Maryland, we are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Public Safety Dispatcher III S3. Your role will involve ensuring the safety and well-being of university students, faculty, staff, and property by supporting campus police officers. If you have experience in emergency and routine radio and telephone communications, this could be the perfect job for you.

Position Summary and Duties:
  • Use a computer-aided dispatch system to respond to emergency calls and dispatch appropriate emergency services.
  • Monitor radio frequencies and alarm systems to coordinate campus safety efforts.
  • Assist campus police officers in various tasks and document their activities.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five years of previous dispatching experience at a higher education institution.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and work under pressure.
  • Experience in data entry and retrieval.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to think and act swiftly under emergency situations.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:
  • Public Safety Dispatchers work at the Base Communications Center.
  • Expect loud sounds and alarms in the work environment.
  • Use of multiple computer monitors and headsets for communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Valid Driver's License.
