THE POSITION:

Notre Dame Academy recognizes the integral role that technology plays throughout the schools educational, administrative and business processes, and in the formation of capable and responsible digital citizens.


The Technology Coordinator is responsible to ensure the proper and continuous operation of the schools robust data, informational and audiovisual systems, and their related infrastructures, set in the moral context of a Catholic, Christian community.

Specifically, the Technology supports twenty-first century technologies to: (1) enrich daily teaching and learning activities, (2) provide for a safe and secure campus environment, (3) optimize administrative and business practices, and (4) enhance healthy communication and collaboration among all community members.

Salary will be competitive with schools and other non-profits of a similar size.

The responsibilities of this position are the following: - Approve, coordinate, and oversee all school-wide projects related to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major technology systems to ensure appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems

PLANNING:

  • Work with the schools academic and administrative leadership to develop and maintain a forward looking technology plan in support of the schools mission.
-Work with the Facilities Director regarding capital improvements in technology, such as network design, building automation, and emergency response. -Approve, coordinate, and oversee all school-wide projects related to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major technology systems to ensure appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems.

BUDGETING:

  • Work with the Director of Finance and Administration to prepare and follow the Annual Operating Budget for school wide technology operations, including funds for hardware and software, supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair, leases and purchases, consulting services, and contracted service agreements.
Research funding sources for technology and prepare grant requests. -Solicit quotes and prepare timely purchase orders for technology-related products and services, and maintain electronic recordkeeping. -Oversee the inventorying of all technology-based hardware, software -Negotiate service agreements with contracted technology vendor

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR:

  • Oversee the distribution and repair of end user technology equipment, such as computers, monitors, laptops, tablets, printers, copiers, projectors, audio systems and related equipment, to ensure that these items are properly installed and functioning at optimum levels, and that students, faculty, staff, and administrators can use these technologies efficiently and effectively.
Serve as lead field technician to install, maintain, and upgrade hardware and software required to run the schools data and communications infrastructures efficiently and securely, such as cable/fiber modems, firewalls/content filters, VPN gateways, switches, servers, battery backup and data backup components, antivirus and ransomware protection, and software licensing.

  • Work with the schools administrative leadership to establish policies and procedures regarding loaner devices for students with documented financial or medical accommodations

TRAINING:

  • Coordinate training opportunities for faculty, staff, and administrators which affords them the knowledge needed to operate school wide computer systems, software, and multimedia devices successfully.
