Schedule:
Teachers will be responsible for teaching a 4.5-week curriculum

Budget Stipend:
$3,500 for the full attendance and program commitment (Stipend includes pre-planning time and curriculum planning)

Expectations & Responsibilities:

  • Teachers will be responsible for attending one curriculum planning meeting to be scheduled before the last day of school.
  • Teach using the curriculum and other appropriate learning activities reflecting a deep understanding of the state standards for courses.
  • Use student data to plan supportive instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners including multilingual learners and students with IEPs.
  • Provide structure in the classroom by promoting a positive classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
  • Hold high expectations for student learning (and behavior) and provide support to help students get there.
  • Maintain effective and regular communication with all students and their families to support students' attendance and progress._ Students are expected to attend the full length of the program with a maximum of two absences._
  • Provide students with regular feedback and support needed to successfully accomplish the gradelevel tasks.
  • Participate in student progress monitoring meetings with NYA coordinator

Submit grades to the NYA Facilitator by 2 pm on July 31st

Site Coordinator:

Prior to the program:

  • The site coordinator oversees student registration and enrollment, which includes family and student communication. Support in the staff hiring process and ordering of materials for their program.
  • They complete transportation upload forms by the deadline, June 10th. Complete food service required training and program requirements
  • Attend district wide summer planning meetings May 29th, June 12th 12:001:00pm
  • Connect with building facilities to identify spaces/ rooms for courses.

During Program:

  • Communicate with both the transportation and food services departments as needed.
  • Supervise staff, monitor attendance, and communicate with families.
  • Responsible for the daytoday operation of the program and for ensuring a positive and learning experience for all students.
  • Report incidents to onsite building administration and/or Director of Extended Academics & Enrichment Services as needed
