Job Description

This opportunity is available for remote work within the state of Texas (subject to change). Attendance at meetings/trainings at headquarters as needed. Our goal at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is to provide quality motor vehicle services to citizens and industries in the state. As a dynamic state agency, we focus on customer service, consumer protection, and the success of motor vehicle-related industries.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities of staff in the ITSD Application Services Development team.
  • Establish goals, approve schedules, and manage evaluation activities.
  • Oversee software applications development and enhancements.
  • Assign projects, ensure all goals are reached.
  • Ensure compliance with state and agency policies.
  • Collaborate with peers and business partners for successful software development.
  • Develop and implement specialized programs to enhance application systems software.
  • Lead strategic planning and goal setting for the department.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and approve reports.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend changes.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team.
  • Oversee implementation of new legislation.
  • Supervise investigations, research studies, and audits.
  • Related assigned work.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

Educational background in computer science or related field.

Minimum of five years of management experience in IT.

Three years of managerial/supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in application development projects in a Texas agency.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
