Network Security Engineer

The **Network Security Engineer (NSE)** will play a crucial role within the **Inmarsat Government Cyber team** to help meet operational security goals by utilizing expertise across various information and network technologies.
This role is vital in upholding our corporate Cyber stance to guarantee continuous secure operations.
The NSE will collaborate with internal business units to comprehend system needs, offer security suggestions, and deploy solutions to maintain security.

The ideal candidate should possess a solid technical background in **network security engineering** and have hands-on experience in creating and managing secure network infrastructures.
We are looking for a minimum of 3 years of **network security engineering** experience, coupled with a comprehensive grasp of routing, switching, and network security protocols.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives to consistently enhance security on land-based networks
- Address and investigate security alerts and incidents
- Manage and oversee perimeter security systems
- Perform assessments of network security requirements and contribute to the design, integration, and deployment of hardware and software.
- Work closely with Engineering departments to analyze attack vectors and implement preventive measures
- Prepare and deliver technical reports / briefings regarding internal and customer security projects
- Keep abreast of the most recent network security solutions, industry standards, and client demands
Position Requirements:
- Positive mindset and deeply driven
- Demonstrated track record of dealing with networking technologies and products
- Advanced understanding of firewall technologies
- Knowledge of adversarial networking attack strategies and countermeasures
- Proficiency in applying security measures to the system engineering process
- Experience in creating policies and implementing processes
- Active **SECRET clearance**
- Cyber certification (**CISSP**, **CCNP Security**, **CCSP**)
Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
- Experience with **DoD** / **IC**
- Active **TOP SECRET clearance**
- Background in working within cloud environments
- Experience in ensuring systems meet RMF standards
- Understanding of **PKI management systems**
- Hands-on experience with **Cisco**, **Palo Alto**, **Checkpoint**, **Fortinet**, **Juniper**, and/or **Forcepoint** devices
