Responsibilities
- Translate middle and senior management strategic directives into actionable technical directives
- Monitor project statuses and implement necessary actions for projects falling behind schedule or exceeding budget
- Provide subject matter expertise for continuous support of third-party tools like Splunk
- Offer expert-level technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Address complex support issues in both non-production and production environments
- Demonstrate an understanding of Cloud Native applications operating on Kubernetes in AWS and utilize exposed APIs for monitoring purposes
- Assist production support and development teams in debugging environmental defects using logging monitors or APM-related profiling data
- Create procedural and troubleshooting documentation related to enterprise monitoring systems and the respective applications under monitoring
- Develop complex automation scripts utilizing common tools like Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform for the installation, configuration, and/or upgrading of monitoring systems
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field
- 6 years of hands-on experience with Splunk
- 10 years of experience working in a diverse multi-platform environment
- 3 years of experience working with cloud-native applications
- 3 years of experience managing technical projects
- Proficiency in administration and change management practices
- Experience with monitoring and reporting tools
- Capability in scripting and/or coding against APIs
- Familiarity with commonly used management and monitoring technologies
- Knowledge of best practices associated with technologies supporting microservices
- Competence in log collection technologies such as CloudTrail, CloudWatch, VPC Flow Logs
- Experience with reporting utilizing SNMP
- Familiarity with tools like Artifactory, Jenkins, and GIT
- Experience with native applications, including Terraform
- Understanding of technologies supporting microservices (SSL/TLS, PKI Infrastructure management)
- Knowledge of controls applied to software technologies
