Schedule:

About the Critical Care Float Pool at
Southdale Hospital:
As a RN on our team, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in multiple units
You will float to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Emergency Department (ED). In a less frequent capacity - may float to Neuro, Cardiac Telemetry, Surgical, and IMC units.
There may be additional opportunity to cross train more areas if needs dictate, such as Post-Partum, EmPath, Endoscopy, etc.

Responsibilities/Job Description:
As an ICU RN, you will be responsible for:
Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes;
Developing an individualized nursing plan of care;
Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care;
Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes;
Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes;
Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate;
Demonstrating the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes;
Promoting a culture of evidence-based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities; and
Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s).

6 months to 1 year of Intermediate Care Experience in an acute care hospital setting

1 year ICU or ED experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
Neuro and Cardiac Care experience
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EPIC)
