Job Description: Direct Support Worker for Children and/or Adults with Developmental Disabilities
Job Title: Direct Support Professional
Rate of Pay: $24 per hour
Position Type: W2

Roles and Responsibilities:
The Direct Support Worker implements care plans developed by the Oregon Department of Human Services, providing in-home support and skills including cooking, cleaning, scheduling, shopping, housing, budgeting, and skill development outlined in the individual's ISP. Documentation of progress notes are required daily.

General Staff Qualifications: A staff member delivering services to an individual must meet the following criteria:

Ability to pass a background check regarding past accusations or convictions of child or adult abuse
Overall competency in working under pressure
Experience in providing general care and support
Knowledge of home care services
Proficient in written and oral communication
High school diploma or equivalent
Hold a current, valid, and unrestricted professional license or certification where required
Hold a current driver's license, auto insurance, and have reliable transportation
Must have a smartphone
Be at least 18 years of age
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Understand requirements for maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding individual information
Not be on the list of excluded or debarred providers maintained by the Office of the Inspector General
Literate and capable of understanding written and oral orders
Able to communicate effectively with individuals, health care providers, case managers, and others
Always responsive in emergency situations
Certified in CPR and First Aid upon starting employment
Receive 24 hours of job-related in-service training annually
Additional qualifications as required by applicable program rules

The following are current clients that are looking for a Direct Support Worker. In your application please note any of the clients that you feel might be a good fit. Client 1:
  • A 6 year old girl looking for help Monday -Friday from 12 pm-5 pm with some flexibility.
  • Looking for someone that demonstrates patience, enjoyes interacting with children and can be silly and laugh.
  • Needs help staying calm with changes, learning more indepencence and working on communication.
Client 2:
  • A 14 year old girl looking for help Monday - Friday 9 am- 3 pm.
  • Needs help reaching her goals and working on life skills, practicing safety in social situations and staying on task.
