The primary purpose of this position is to accomplish routine tasks associated with the Customer Service Program and to perform a wide variety of both procedural and substantive clerical work supporting military personnel programs, operations, or functions.

Responsibilities Serves as recognized source of information on ID card applications Updates inquiries and processes actions through Personnel Data Systems Performs other action pertaining to Customer Service Programs to include SGLI/FSGLI updates, personnel inprocessing, citizenship updates, and joint spouse updates, among other programs Performs clerical support to ensure efficient office operations Uses a variety of office automation hardware, software, and peripherals in the performance of military personnel functions and performs other clerical support work Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, 0203 Series.


SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems.

Examples of specialized experience includes 1) Knowledge of military personnel regulations and procedures relating to Customer Service Programs. 2) Knowledge of military organizational structure, protocol, and similar matters. 3) Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures. 4) Knowledge of the military personnel automated system and office automation hardware, software, and peripherals. 5)

Knowledge of the format, content, and uses of the military personnel record and the procedures and requirements regarding its maintenance.

6) Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and maintain effective work relationships.

OR EDUCATION:
Successful completion of 4 years of education above high school. This education was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
