PDPO (Privacy and Data Protection Office) is the organization to lead, supervise, and empower all TikTok's privacy work in an accountable and industry leading way.

You will join a global team driving privacy best practices across TikTok. Our focus involves ensuring compliance with global laws, regulations and the adoption of privacy best practices. In this role, you will drive multiple programs, in collaboration with colleagues around the world. You will partner with legal and technical teams to drive change across the organization.


We are seeking a Privacy Program Manager to join our Commitments team, to be based in SJ, NY, LA with a focus in Compliance and/or Audit.

You will interact with Product/Engineering, Legal, Business, and will play a critical role in upholding the privacy rights of our users, ensuring the protection of their personal information, ensuring compliance with global privacy laws, and promoting the adoption of best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure privacy commitments and practices are being effectively communicated and implemented across the company.
  • Maintain an understanding and awareness of relevant privacy laws and regulations, as well as industry best practices and developments.
  • Distill companywide requirements and priorities to drive execution across multiple crossfunctional teams.
  • Participate in internal audits and assessments to ensure compliance with privacy commitments, laws, and regulations.
  • Review and improve program/product controls in partnership with Legal and Product.
  • Collaborate on the implementation and maintenance of privacy policies and guidelines, ensuring they are up to date and effective.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to promote privacy compliance and ensure crossfunctional collaboration.
  • Establish, improve, and promote both process and technical systems needed to meet ongoing goals.
  • Develop and deliver privacy compliance training and awareness programs to employees across the organization.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years in compliance, auditing, consulting, technical program management or industry equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in privacy compliance with a proven track record of managing compliance programs and initiatives.
  • Experience working with Privacy Control Frameworks.
  • Experience working in privacy regulations/legislations at an internal/external auditing capacity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately.
  • Highly detailoriented, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sound knowledge of privacy laws, regulations and industry best practices, including GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and HIPAA.
  • Proven track record of delivering ambitious programs/organizational change in a compliance or privacy field.
  • Relevant certifications in privacy and data protection (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, OSCP) are a plus.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $ $256310 annually.


Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.

Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
