Summary

Provides strategic leadership in administering a comprehensive technology plan essential for achieving the mission and goals of the College. Involves executive-level planning responsibility for technology, setting vision and strategies to move the College forward in a competitive higher education environment.

Essential Functions
  • Maintains awareness of stakeholder needs and priorities, and ongoing industry changes to recommend strategies for IT solutions that meet evolving technical needs
  • Utilizes all resources within the organization to satisfy stakeholder needs
  • Provides leadership and direction to resources to fulfill stakeholder deliverables
  • Ensures resources have necessary information, standards, and methodologies to meet college needs proactively
  • Accountable for meeting service level objectives
  • May assist in resolving stakeholder issues and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Manages for stakeholder and employee satisfaction
  • Supervises staff for end-to-end delivery support
  • Coordinates and conducts training for team members
  • Tracks and manages inter-dependencies across service lines/teams
  • Applies standards, researches best practices, and shares knowledge with stakeholders and staff
  • Identifies and escalates gaps/weaknesses in College processes, products, and resource skills
  • Submits project status, issues, and risks to Vice President and department managers
  • Collaborates with Vice President and Executive Director on strategic planning
  • Administers EIS activities in support of College's information needs
  • Oversees technical computing functions including voice and data communications, desktop support, network services, and Computer Operations
  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders and vendors
  • Plans, manages, and coordinates administrative and instructional technology initiatives
  • Develops objectives and strategies for software and hardware acquisition and integration
  • Works closely with campus-based technology staff for effective system implementation
  • Forecasts budget and staffing demands
  • Establishes quality deliverables and monitors delivery
  • Supervises site staff for end-to-end delivery support
  • Manages IT service management processes
  • Provides performance review input for team members
  • Optimizes services for cost efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Ensures effective communication across teams
  • Performs other assigned duties
Required Qualifications

Education and Experience/Training

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum eight years of management experience in IT Services
  • Experience in hiring, training, budgeting, and decision-making
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and decision-making abilityKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Comprehensive knowledge of IT theories, concepts, and practices
    • Ability to work independently
    • Experience in managing Enterprise Infrastructure staff
    • Strong relationship building and communication skills
    • Knowledge of various IT areas including communications, desktop support, and network services
    • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion
    • Effective conflict resolution and collaboration abilities
    • Ability to develop and maintain relationships
