About the Role:


Central to maintaining Twitch as an inclusive and safe environment is the Trust & Safety team, essential for fostering diverse, global creators and communities.


Reporting to the Head of Policy, Outreach & Education, you will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, such as product managers, engineers, researchers, and multiple teams within Twitch, to integrate policy and privacy considerations into our evolving products and services.

You will address challenging content moderation issues, balancing community safety and freedom of expression, while navigating our place in the broader social and gaming realm, alongside business and operational complexities.

You'll engage in rapid research, writing, and partnership coordination, including handling safety-related matters on the platform, sometimes outside regular hours, including weekends.


In this role, you'll lead by leveraging your experience in working with diverse groups, bringing creative solutions independently, and possessing a knack for understanding trade-offs.

You will be expected to seek out and effectively communicate pertinent data to inform complex decisions, craft policy recommendations convincingly, and develop strategic plans with clearly defined success metrics, ensuring transparency and progress tracking.

A reality of the role will involve identifying gaps between teams, processes, and system architecture to optimize outcomes for our community.

  • Foster collaboration across departments and provide leadership to ensure alignment between teams, processes, and systems.
  • Develop strategic policies that consider regulatory requirements, product development, content strategy, and brand preservation.
  • Contribute to the resolution of significant and nuanced policy matters.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the technology sector, specializing in policy, policy communications, or legal matters

Superior written and verbal communication skills. As part of the application process, completion of a written policy proposal exercise is required.

Collaborative Mindset:
Proven experience collaborating with a diverse range of partners, from executives to content creators.

Problem-Solving Skills:
Demonstrated creativity in problem-solving and the ability to comprehend decision-making trade-offs.

Understanding of the Industry:
Familiarity with regulations, product development, content strategy, and community well-being within the digital landscape, particularly platforms like Twitch.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Background in content moderation and trust and safety practices related to live streaming content.

Experience in crafting policies concerning brand suitability or recommendations.

Educational Background:

Possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, Master's degree, or equivalent practical experience, demonstrating a solid educational background in legal, business, or related fields.

Our compensation model accounts for varying labor costs across multiple US regions.

This role offers a base salary ranging from $106,600/year in the lowest geographic market to $185,000/year in the highest, alongside potential variations based on location and individual qualifications.
