POSITION DEFINITION
The Senior Tax Accountant prepares and reviews the Company's income and non-income tax compliance reporting and accounting.

The Senior Tax Accountant should have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy being part of a team that collaborates with the Accounting, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs departments in support of the tax function.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produces high-quality work product reflecting accuracy and thoroughness through both the preparation and review of matters of all tax types, including: income tax provisions and related regulatory disclosures all tax return filings and payments (income and non-income)
  • Property Plant and Equipment tax-book computations and records tax projections
  • Ensures adherence to standardized processes and controls, including those designed to maintain SOX compliance, and actively works towards continuous improvement thereof
  • Reevaluates processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and appropriate level of documentation, including through proficiently leveraging technology tools
  • Works directly with accounting/finance and regulatory-affairs teams, outside advisors, and external financial-statement auditors
  • Timely identifies and applies new tax laws, and performs/reviews tax research in support of compliance and planning
  • Prepares/reviews tax-related correspondence
  • Provides work product in a timely manner supported by well-organized
documentation adhering to Tax Department policies

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or related discipline; Master's degree
in Tax preferred

  • Six years of experience performing corporate tax compliance and ASC 740
income tax provision

  • Experience in federal and multi-state corporate income tax compliance including
consolidated and combined returns

  • Rate-regulated utility experience preferred
  • Proficiency with (i) Microsoft applications, including advanced Excel skills, (ii)
income-tax-return-preparation applications, and (iii) tax research applications

  • Proficiency with tax modules in the PowerPlan suite of applications preferred
  • Proficiency with One Source Income Tax RS preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws.

Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
