Position Title: Director of Applications and Data Reporting

Department: Information Technology

Reports To: Chief Information Technology Officer

Classification: Exempt

Status: Full-Time Regular

POSITION SUMMARY

This role holds significant leadership responsibilities within CHCN's Information Technology department. The Director of Applications and Data Reporting will supervise the operational applications and data analytics functions in the organization. They will coordinate all activities related to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of CHCN's applications and databases. The position involves creating and enforcing best practices and application technology standards, developing strategies and objectives, establishing budgets, and ensuring data and application security and availability. The Director will play a key role in supporting data needs across CHCN operations, leading initiatives to enhance data analysis, visualization, and utilization for operational and financial enhancement. Additionally, they will oversee the creation of interactive analytics dashboards and datasets to transform data into insights and wisdom throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESULTS

  • Implement applications as per business unit and security requirements.
  • Direct development, validation, and maintenance of applications and databases.
  • Plan, supervise, and execute IT application projects in collaboration with the project management team.
  • Manage application budgets and expenditures, ensuring alignment with financial plans.
  • Evaluate institutional application needs and provide guidance to the IT team.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop IT professionals in alignment with business goals.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and establish effective application support processes.
  • Ensure compliance with system standards and IT policies.
  • Maintain system documentation and business records.
  • Enhance data exchange processes and monitoring structures.

Data Model

  • Strategically design data models for Reporting for the Core Administration System.
  • Oversee data extraction, aggregation, and quality assurance from multiple sources.

Analytics

  • Develop analytical tools to support organizational decision-making.
  • Enhance data analytics expertise across the organization.
  • Analyze and visualize data to support program development.
  • Generate in-depth analysis of key business trends.
  • Create interactive analytics visualization for end users.

Communication / Partnership

  • Create and share data visualizations with stakeholders.
  • Maintain strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancement.
  • Oversee program implementation risks and opportunities.
  • Assist in issue resolution and program evaluation.
  • Collaborate with leaders on data quality initiatives.

Supervise

  • Manage department operations and provide mentorship to staff.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role directly supervises the Managers of Applications and Data Reporting.

CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES

Required: bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or 3 years of relevant experience.

Preferred: master's degree with coursework in Computer Science or related discipline.
