Job Details:

Purpose

As a member of the Human Resources team, the Director of Learning and Development will enable a best-in-class employee experience through program development and design, coaching and delivery. This role is responsible for leading and managing organization-wide efforts to ensure that employee development, professional training programs and onboarding curriculum are developed, managed, and tracked using a data-driven approach that is aligned to the organizations ongoing strategic priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design of a comprehensive training curriculum for staff employees across the Dell Medical School community sitting in a variety of roles.
  • Lead learning & development initiatives including onboarding, professional development, and leadership development.
  • Assist in shaping competency model framework used to serve as a foundation for all professional development efforts.
  • Support any change management efforts the organization may require through training and learning-based messaging.
  • Consult with organizational leaders to align with growth management strategies and design custom professional learning and development solutions based on identified needs.
  • Help leaders facilitate employee development by empowering them with the knowledge and resources they need to formulate career paths and devise strategies that enable mobility.
  • Routinely measure and report on the effectiveness of training programs and make continuous improvements in virtual and live learning environments.
  • Evaluate and identify learning theories and frameworks, structures, as well as platforms that best serve the needs of enterprise's employees.
  • Provide professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of the talent review process that is required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talent.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain data to inform targeted leadership development.
  • Oversee and support in the development of existing onboarding program to improve the experience and organizational understanding of new employees.
  • Conduct presentations and training or source appropriate trainers/facilitators.
  • Build partnerships with L&D efforts and departments at UT and other universities and medical schools to support continual growth, innovation, and excellence in design and delivery of learning opportunities.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Eight (8) years of experience in learning and development including program development and design. Experience in designing, managing, and facilitating effective training and development programs. Demonstrated ability to understand employee and organizational needs and propose/execute L&D solutions. Ability to think strategically and creatively. Strong relationship building and management skills. Demonstrated excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff with clarity and tact. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in a related field. Previous academic/healthcare experience preferred. Experience in successfully leading organizational-wide complex talent management functions. Extensive knowledge and demonstrated ability in applying learning theories.
