The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for a multitude of tasks in the Company's Purchasing Department that contributes to the overall satisfaction of the Company's customers. This holder of this position will submit purchase orders on vendor websites, edit POs, research items, and communicate with manager and supervisor on daily tasks according to company procedures in an efficient and expedient manner.

Primary duties and responsibilities, not limited to:

Purchasing Activities (90% of Time)

  • Review incoming customer orders to determine fraud status, and release or submit to fraud batch, as appropriate
  • Update expected delivery date and method, as appropriate
  • Uploads purchase orders to vendor sites, daily
  • Verifies purchase orders on vendor sites
  • Monitors vendor purchasing sites for shipping delays, backorders, and/or superseded part numbers and updates Company records
  • Maintain excel spreadsheets of critical supply purchases
  • Coordinate and collaborate with team to improve Departmental performance
  • Proactively monitor and notify supervisor of any purchase order, customer order, or processing discrepancies

Requirements

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to commute to the Lake Placid, FL office
  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Keen attention to detail required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and data analysis functions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an understanding of diverse backgrounds and an emphasis on communication and teamwork
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively learn and utilize complex computer systems (Microsoft GP, Microsoft Excel, as well as proprietary software)
  • Expert ability using Internet Explorer, and general website navigation
  • Proven ability to effectively and efficiently solve complex processes and systems within a team
