Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Division of Family Health for a Patient Pathway Manager to support the Paediatric Service. This is a role which will lead, inspire and improve elective patient pathways.

The Division are looking for an individual with operational management experience as well as experience of process improvement and with high levels of attention to detail. We are looking for highly motivated individuals with excellent communication skills who have the ability to work well as part of a large multidisciplinary team. The posts will be of interest to those who wish to pursue a career in hospital management and would like to gain more experience in a busy service with a wide variety of challenges.

We are happy to accept applicants as a developmental Band 5 to Band 6. You would initially be Band 5 with set development.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have a key role in supporting the delivery of 18 Weeks '(RTT)' and 62-Day Cancer targets, to include theatre and outpatient scheduling as well as managing the admin function of the Division.

The role will also involve validation of the PTL to ensure a timely pathway for each patient.

Good communication skills and being able to work with all levels of staff are crucial, with the ability to remain calm under pressure to meet deadlines.

An overview of both strategic and operational issues within the Trust and Division is required.

Providing senior support and expert knowledge to the admin teams within the Division overseeing all administrative and clerical processes to enable a high quality, effective patient focused service to be delivered, utilising standard operating procedures to ensure achievement of all key performance indicators.

The role would suit an enthusiastic, motivated and forward thinking individual looking for a challenge in a post that is both interesting and varied.

The post holder will join an established and highly skilled team and will have responsibility for the day to day operational management of all elective pathways and will be responsible for ensuring that agreed processes and standards are implemented and adhered to.

The post holder will ensure Inpatient and Outpatient services are balanced with the demands of urgent and emergency clinical workloads with an overall integrated approach to capacity and demand management.
