A Clinical Nurse III in Oncology excels in providing nursing care with top-notch technical skills and critical thinking abilities. They have extensive knowledge in Oncology nursing, applying specialized skills in patient care management. As a resource for staff, the Clinical Nurse III ensures patient safety and comfort.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides and documents nursing process components for Oncology patient care.
- Delivers comprehensive care services to complex patients, including medication administration.
- Performs skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and venous access initiation.
- Adapts care plans based on patient conditions and symptoms.
- Collaborates with teams to implement individualized patient care.
- Identifies and addresses safety concerns based on patient demographics.
- Assists co-workers, new staff, and students, serving as a preceptor when needed.
- Coordinates unit activities when assigned charge nurse duties.
- Participates in unit meetings and contributes to quality improvement initiatives.
- Establishes IV access and administers IV therapy as directed.
QualificationsEducation:
Requires an Associates Degree or College Diploma. Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a state-accredited program.
License/Certification:- Must have RN California state license.
- ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification.
- OCN Oncology Certified Nurse certification.
- Advance Oncology Certificate Nurse certification preferred.
Minimum of three years of RN experience in acute care, with high preference for Oncology specialty. Critical care experience highly preferred.
