DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist Head Cheer Coach
  • Attend ALL activities and events that the cheerleading squad attends.
  • Arrange transportation and lodging when applicable and arrange payment of services.
  • Organize a parent meeting prior to try-outs and assist with try-out procedures.
  • Order required uniforms (performance and summer camp) and arrange for payment.
  • Schedule, arrange, and attend summer camp with cheerleading squad.
  • Arrange for payment of any required fees to participate in regional, state, or national competitions.
  • Schedule and supervise all practices/activities (cheerleading practices, making locker decorations, signs, etc.).
  • Arrange and conduct any fundraising functions; keep an account of the activity funds, collect, receipt, and deposit money.
  • Plan and approve routines and activities for pep rallies, assemblies, and game performances.
  • Arrange for outside coaching (if desired) and arrange for payment of choreographer.
  • Make a phone roster and calling tree for squad members and set up an emergency plan in case of injury during a practice.
  • Work closely with activities director in planning and scheduling events.
  • Conduct the cheerleading class by having expectations, grading, and testing procedures in place at the beginning of the school year.
  • Any duties that may be deemed necessary by principal.
