Job Summary

Cameron University is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Athletic Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our athletic department, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care and support to our student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in developing and implementing a comprehensive athletic training program that meets NCAA, conference, and university standards.
  • Care and Prevention of sports-related injuries through proactive measures and education.
  • Evaluate and Treat injuries in a timely and effective manner, ensuring the well-being of our student-athletes.
  • Rehabilitation of injuries through personalized treatment plans and progress monitoring.
  • Build Relationships with local medical experts to ensure access to top-notch care and resources.
  • Process Insurance Claims for student-athletes in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Recruit and Supervise student athletic trainers to support the athletic training program.
  • Develop and Manage budgets and expenditures within allocated institutional resources.
  • Perform Fundraising activities to support the athletic training program and department.
  • Supervise Professional and Student Assistants to ensure seamless operation of the athletic training program.
  • Develop Schedules for athletic training coverage during practices and competition.
  • Develop Daily Training Room Hours of operation to ensure optimal use of resources.
  • Participate in Community Service activities to promote the university's mission and values.
  • Ensure Academic Success of student trainers through mentorship and support.
  • Maintain and Upkeep athletic training rooms and equipment to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field.
  • Certification through the National Athletic Trainer's Association or equivalent.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification to ensure emergency preparedness.
  • College, Graduate Assistant, or High School Athletic Training Experience to demonstrate expertise and knowledge.
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills to effectively interact with student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
  • Demonstrated Organizational and Management Ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively.
  • Strong Work Ethic and Team Player Attitude to support the university's mission and values.
