The Unit Supervisor will be responsible for comprehensive management of a residential unit for youth and staff ensuring the safety, well-being, and daily functioning of the facility and its occupants.
This role demands strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to lead a team in a dynamic, 24/7 shelter environment.
Unit Supervisor will submit daily detailed reports summarizing overall unit status. They will report any incidents if they occur to maintain a safe environment. They will ensure the appropriate number of staff is scheduled per shift. They will supervise a total of 10 Youth Care Professionals and 12 youth per cottage.They will make sure planned activities for youth occur on a daily basis and that the youth receive all necessary services/resources.
Oversee the intake and discharge of the youth and ensure all necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner. Lastly, they will manage finances for the unit such as distributing youth allowances and recreation stipends. They will be flexible and have a team player mentality to aid in training other staff. Overall, the preferred candidate will have strong problem solving, organizational and leadership skills.Shifts/Schedule:
M-F
2 Days - 2PM-10PM
2 Days - 9AM-5PM
1 Day - 11AM - 7PM

Bachelors Degree in related field (Masters preferred)
Must be fluent in Spanish and English, including speaking, reading, and writing
At least one year of experience in group childcare. Preferably immigration, child welfare, social services, teaching, hospital environment.
2+ years of experience supervisory experience
Understanding of trauma informed care principles and working with diverse populations
Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
Comfortable with working long hours when necessary
