  • Summary: A successful candidate in this role will act as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist, focusing on planning and implementing Environmental, Safety, and Health programs.
  • Responsibilities:

- Carry out technical reviews and evaluations in industrial safety and hygiene, particularly in the context of facility design, construction, and inspections.

- Interpret and apply regulations, standards, and codes to address Environmental, Safety, and Health concerns.

- Offer support for incidents involving employee injury/illness, conducting investigations and ensuring the adequacy of safety reports.

- Follow up to guarantee timely completion of corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Subject to Random Drug Testing
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Favorable suitability determination required
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Q level Security Clearance
  • Must be a United States Citizen

Qualifications

For EN-03 level: Requires experience in facility inspection for environmental and ergonomic hazards, unsafe physical conditions identification, and emergency management programs participation.

For EN-04 level: Involves developing Federal safety policies, understanding administrative, engineering, and scientific disciplines, and managing work planning.

Examples of qualifying experience include:

For EN-03 level: Inspection of facilities for environmental hazards, unsafe conditions identification, and emergency management programs participation.

For EN-04 level: Developing Federal safety policies, working across various disciplines, and implementing safety plans.

Skills required are Manages and Organizes Information, Public Safety and Security, Safety Engineering, and Written Communication.

Education

Major in safety or occupational health fields, or related areas with a concentration in safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, among others.
