LLG is hiring a Geographic Information Systems Analyst

LLG is looking for a proactive Geographic Information Systems Analyst to become part of their team. This position involves developing and managing GIS data and Webmap applications, assisting with mobile field data collection setup, and supporting both the GNSS sales and marketing team. They need someone who can think outside the box and has strong critical thinking abilities.



Responsibilities:
  • Produce digital and physical geographic products to meet company requirements.
  • Establish standards and workflow processes for creating, maintaining, and distributing spatial data, including accurate GNSS data collection.
  • Create and manage corporate spatial and other GIS-related datasets using various methods such as coordinate geometry, GPS, and digitization.
  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects requiring GIS expertise.
  • Stay updated on new GIS technologies, trends, and best practices to suggest innovative solutions.
  • Provide technical support for GIS field applications in production agriculture.
  • Utilize GIS tools to analyze and map land descriptions.
  • Train employees on GIS and GPS technology usage.
  • Support LLG GNSS Sales and Marketing efforts.
  • Assist clients with GIS and AGOL organizational account activities.
  • Develop story maps and webmap applications.
  • Set up webmaps for FieldMaps and mobile field data collection.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, landscape architecture, hydrology, geography, or a related field like natural/environmental science.
  • Minimum of 3 years of GIS experience with ESRI software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps) in energy, natural resources, land management, or similar sectors.
  • Proficiency in GNSS, coordinate systems, UAV, and related processes.
  • Strong research, analysis, project planning, and implementation skills.
  • Capability to design professional spatial solutions.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with the flexibility to travel statewide.
  • Willingness to conduct mobile field data collection tasks exposed to varying weather and terrain conditions.
  • Aptitude for creating comprehensive documentation and training materials.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Prior experience in local or state government settings.
  • Familiarity with interpreting real property legal descriptions, ordinances, zoning codes, and stormwater management.
  • Understanding of land management records for tax assessment, land surveying, or engineering purposes.
  • Previous involvement in data collection, land surveying, or topographic surveys.
  • Knowledge of Stormwater regulations related to land development activities.
