EHS MANAGER
COLUMBIA CITY, IN - COLUMBIA CITY PLANT
As a member of the US/Canada EHS team, the Columbia City Plant EHS Manager will be responsible for providing medical service and first aid to employees or persons who become ill or injured on the premises of this commercial or industrial establishment by performing the duties listed herein.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Take patient's vital signs, treats wounds, and evaluates physical condition of the patient.
- Contact physician and hospital to arrange for further medical treatment, when needed.
- Maintain record of person treated and prepares accident reports and WC insurance forms.
- Develop employee programs such as health education, accident prevention, curtailment of smoking, and weight control regimens.
- Workers' Compensation Liaison.
- Case management of indemnity and compensation.
- Maintain and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly injury data information as it relates to plant and corporate requirements.
- Conduct new hire orientation.
- Act as project leader of the Safety Committee.
- Develop required Health and Safety programs and reviews programs annually.
- Maintain all OSHA recordkeeping requirements (OSHA 300, MSDS, etc.)
- Arrange for annual training for ergonomics, blood-borne pathogens, hearing conservation, air sampling, etc.
- Maintain necessary medical supplies within the facility.
- Actively participate in self-directed work team model.
- Assure adherence to the collective bargaining agreement.
- Follow ISO14001 and IATF16949 procedures/processes.
- Participate in plant recycling programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree (B.S. /B.A.); two plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- A Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematics or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Bonus If You Have:
- Master's Degree in Occupational Safety or Environmental or associated field desired
- Previous experience in a JIT manufacturing facility
