The Material Resource Coordinator position has a proactive role and is responsible for managing space and material resources that we make available to designers and architects in support of project design.The process of material research, selection, evaluation, specification, review, storage, shipment has continued to evolve rapidly over the past 5 years. We anticipate that new processes, materials and systems for their analysis, review and specification will continue to change in support of virtual and in-person interaction.

Our coordinator needs to consider continuous improvement for how we manage our lab space, efficiently store and display materials, communicate and interact with manufacturer reps, process submittals, and develop project palettes.

*This is a part-time role 24-32 hrs/week*

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Design Lab for designers and architects.
  • Receive samples, organize and file as needed.
  • Organize Design Lab, including returning samples when needed or recycling materials.
  • Schedule all Lunch + Learns for Architects and Interior Designers - no more than two per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
  • Coordinate with reps for library updates in a timely manner.
  • Create Presentation Boards + Contractor Boards when requested.
  • Assist designers, as needed, with finish selections and product research or ordering.
  • Support Design Lab mailbox as needed by replying to emails and calls.
  • Provide support to other offices' Design Labs as time permits.
  • Order supplies as needed for Design Lab.
  • Communicate operational issues to supervisor on a regular basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Business Administration preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Time management skills.
  • Good communication skills; oral and written.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping staff as requested.
  • 1-3 years' experience supporting an Architectural/Engineering/Design firm, is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
