Educational and Experience Requirement:

Earned Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Higher Education, or related field of education with a record of high quality performance as an educator, scholarly achievement, and experience in administration at the college or University level. Must have prior leadership experience in education field within higher education, state accountability, and a proven research agenda. Must demonstrate human relations and managerial skills and an understanding of disciplines comprised within the College of Education. At least five years of successful experience in academic administration preferred; evidence of scholarly and professional achievement that merit a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of full professor.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

The Associate Dean is a critical member of the administrative leadership team. The Associate Dean is expected to assist the Dean of the College of Education with all aspects of Texas Education Agency accreditation reporting requirements and with meeting the goals and initiatives of the College.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Assists the Dean of the College with the following functions: general administration, curriculum and instruction, state accreditation efforts. Provides leadership in collaborative activities within and outside the college and university. Supports educator preparation programming. Supervises staff; leads state reporting for teacher and professional certifications. Advances program improvement; ensures compliance with in-state reporting and accreditation. Supports the college strategic plan; supports faculty development, student success, internal and external partnerships, student matters; and interacts effectively with other colleges and divisions within the University. Performs other related duties as assigned.
