The Education Specialist Position at Albany Medical Center

The Education Specialist plays a vital role in utilizing their knowledge and skills to achieve the organization's objectives. This position involves acting as an educator, performance consultant, and leader in collaboration with various stakeholders.

  • Supports preceptors in developing orientation programs for new Staff.
  • Responsible for staff orientation and continued development.
  • Demonstrate conflict resolution principles and promote consensus building.
  • Represents Case Management/Social Work at organizational committee meetings as directed.
  • Interprets laws, policies, and operational procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assists in the development of policies, standards of care, and practice.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in related laws and regulations.
  • Expertise in entitlement eligibility, managed care, and legal matters.
  • Ensures efficient and effective service provision within standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work, Nursing, or Education from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in Clinical Social Work or Nursing with Case Management experience.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in a nursing or allied health specialty.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.

The Education Specialist role involves providing leadership to support staff through educational activities tailored to the nursing organization's needs.

Principal Position Responsibilities:

The Education Specialist leads the design of systems supporting staff involvement in practice, research, education, and quality decisions. This position also participates in the development and implementation of education programs.

Candidates with Pediatric nursing experience are preferred, but those without can still apply and be considered.
