  • Develops program and project requirements, devises advanced equipment and tooling concepts, and designs solutions for the Production System.
  • Validates technical data analysis, influences product engineering design, and provides recommendations for robotics, automation, or technology to enhance production system integration for aerospace products.
  • Leads in creating and revising equipment and tooling definitions at the program level.
  • Executes project plans, contributes to Make/Buy decisions, and collaborates with Procurement to achieve program schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Ensures adherence to safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements.
  • Directs gated reviews and formulates production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares strategies.
  • Validates contractual performance milestones.
  • Develops and implements workarounds, maintains hardware, software, and documentation configurations.
  • Conducts studies and provides recommendations for asset disposition.
  • Must exhibit passion, innovation, and a constant drive for enhancing processes and efficiency.
  • Collaborates with mechanics, safety personnel, equipment services, and provides direct support to the production system.

Day to Day:


• Overview of the daily project tasks and activities:


• Explores and develops basic to moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to meet aerospace product design and construction needs.


• Participates in design reviews, gathers design requirements, creates and revises drawings and models to align with the build plan.


• Formulates specifications, purchase requests, and instructions for equipment and tooling utilization.


• Conducts self-assessments of designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory standards.


• Develops and documents equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance schedules, and assists in user training development.


• Researches designs for the creation and revision of usage instructions. Offers technical support for engineering alterations and discrepancies by investigating issues and analyzing data for solutions.


• Manages hardware and software configurations. Supports the disposition of equipment and tooling.

1. CATIA/Solidworks/other CAD modeling software

2. Excellent communication skills

3. Proficiency in GD&T - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

4. Adherence to industry standards

5. Hardware configuration management
