Description

  • Oversee the accounting and financial reporting for derivatives transactions, including futures, options, swaps, and other complex financial instruments.
  • Monitor and analyze the company's derivative positions, including valuation, risk exposure, and hedge effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to derivatives trading (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR).
  • Collaborate with the trading desk and risk management team to assess market risks associated with derivatives activities and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage the company's lending operations, including loan origination, servicing, and portfolio management.
  • Perform financial analysis and due diligence on potential lending opportunities, including credit risk assessment and financial modeling.
  • Prepare regulatory reports and disclosures related to derivatives and lending activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 815, ASC 310).
  • Assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations of derivatives and lending transactions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in derivatives accounting and lending operations.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or CFA certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing, with a focus on derivatives and lending.
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of derivative instruments and their accounting treatment under GAAP and IFRS.
  • Familiarity with lending products and credit risk assessment methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling software.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
