Overview of the Position

As a member of this team, your pivotal role involves providing crucial support to the Sales department and clients throughout the sales process, customizing ABB's products to align with customer needs. Your daily tasks will include selecting the best-suited products and technologies, preparing necessary documentation, and acting as a primary technical adviser for the designated area. Additionally, you will demonstrate your proficiency in exploring and nurturing new business prospects through proactive networking and prospecting.
- Acts as the main contact person for ABB Power Management Software solutions at the front end of the sales team, with the primary goal of enhancing sales strategies to expand the customer base. This includes solutions related to Asset and Condition Monitoring, Electrical Control and Monitoring, Energy Management, and Substation Automation.
- Collaborates with account managers to identify new sales opportunities and lead growth initiatives essential for meeting order targets. Ensures accurate sales forecasts are maintained within SFDC.
- Offers consultative support to the account management team for sales-related activities like strategy formulation, technical discussions, and product demonstrations.
- Gains insight into the competitive landscape, both internal and external, to develop valuable market intelligence specific to power management software solutions in industrial settings. Conducts a SWOT analysis to leverage strengths and address weaknesses effectively.

Requirements for the Role
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a STEM-related field, with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant sales or customer-facing experience (with 10 years preferred). Alternatively, a combination of education, experience, and accomplishments may be considered.
  • Knowledge of industrial software solutions for Electrical SCADA, energy/power management control, monitoring, and optimization applications is essential.
  • Familiarity with electrical distribution methods, facility power consumption/generation strategies, and power management systems is required.
  • Understanding of electrical distribution equipment such as MV/LV Switchgear, Motor Control, and relevant intelligent electronic devices is necessary.
  • Proficiency in substation automation communication design principles, encompassing protocols like IEC61850, network structures, device integration, and data collection methods.
  • Demonstrated technical capability to propose competitive electrical solutions using ABB's product mix and possibly third-party supplier offerings.
  • US citizenship or authorization to work in the US is mandatory.
