Reports To: Operations Manager

JOB SUMMARY: The Irrigation Crew Lead is responsible for leading an irrigation crew of up to 6 members to install irrigation projects throughout Des Moines and surrounding areas. The crew lead will also be responsible for performing spring start-ups, ongoing monthly irrigation checks/maintenance and winterizations. The Crew Lead is responsible for promoting jobsite safety, completing irrigation installations with great precision and efficiency, providing excellent customer service, and exhibits pride and quality workmanship.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions:
  • Work closely with Operations Manager and Designer
  • Represent the company's best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism
  • Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
  • Manage crew effectively and efficiently to produce an excellent and profitable product
  • Teach and train crew members to ensure proper procedures, processes and quality of work are followed and achieved
  • Monitor company equipment, tools and vehicles for needed maintenance
  • Forecast equipment, labor and material needs to ensure efficient production
  • Direct, oversee and participate in work performed by your team. This is a hands-on position and requires this person to perform work activities alongside their team
  • Understand and meet production and project schedule deadlines without sacrificing great customer service or excellent quality
  • Complete daily activity reports and timesheets and submit daily
  • Attend training classes and educational seminars as requested by management

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in irrigation installation
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of irrigation installation standards
  • Proficient in operating commercial landscape equipment
  • Valid Iowa driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) a plus
