Job Description:

We are seeking an approachable and skilled Payroll Specialist for a full-time, direct-hire position at SOLID Personnel. Schedule:

Local hires (Bay Area) will follow a hybrid schedule, with remote work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and on-site work at our headquarters in Pleasanton, CA on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For non-local candidates, a fully remote position may be considered for the right fit. A 32-hour workweek is also open for discussion.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain various company spreadsheets related to employee payroll.
  • Track and organize weekly timecards for over 200 field staff members, obtaining approvals from clients on a weekly basis.
  • Manually calculate employee timecards, understanding multi-state overtime, wage, and hour regulations.
  • Input precise payroll details such as hours worked, overtime, sick leave, expenses, and job numbers.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality regarding proprietary and employee information.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly; perform necessary payroll adjustments as required.
  • Handle client inquiries and requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist employees with payroll-related queries and concerns.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing; address employee concerns appropriately.
  • Build positive relationships with internal and field personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Google Docs.
  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Preferred bilingualism in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Ability to meet deadlines efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong team player with excellent organizational and problems-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with phone communication and texting.
