The role of the Senior Patient Financial Counselor involves handling insurance and eligibility verifications, evaluating the financial prerequisites for suggested therapies, which include but are not restricted to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, clinic appointments, integrated support services, and other cancer-related treatments or services. They offer advice to patients on insurance perks, co-payments, and out-of-pocket expenses. Additionally, they secure any mandatory preauthorization for procedures, treatments, and admissions, acquire grants, and drug aid programs to back up the patient's financial requirements and grant them entry to care.
