Join Our Team as a Mechanical Engineer at Penn State University's Applied Research Laboratory (ARL)

  • Collaborate with a team to design, develop, and test mechanical or aerospace components and systems
  • Create 3D models and draft innovative product designs
  • Contribute to prototype development using advanced 3D printing technologies
  • Perform performance and feasibility analyses on new designs and materials
  • Be part of the entire product lifecycle, from concept to production
  • Assist in document preparation, including design specs and manuals

Join a passionate and creative team working on challenging national problems for the Navy, DoD, and Intel communities. As part of ARL at Penn State, you will work in an agile team environment on cutting-edge research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and structural design
  • Hands-on experience with 3D printing, water jetting, and laser cutting technologies
  • Understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes
