Job Title: Oncology Research Nurse at Henry Ford Medical Group

Job Description:

  • Perform assessments independently and in collaboration with physician investigator to meet objectives of oncology research protocol in compliance with IRB and sponsor guidelines.
  • Identify and recruit patients for oncology clinical trials.
  • Coordinate patient care across multiple departments to ensure treatment adheres to protocol and critical clinical timeline.
  • Provide education to patients and families on diagnosis, clinical trials, and investigational chemotherapy.
  • Responsible for nursing oversight of investigational chemotherapy treatment.
  • Triage patient clinical needs, including reactions from investigational agent.
  • Initiate hospital admissions and referrals as needed.
  • Support physician investigators and clinicians to facilitate patient participation in oncology.
  • Conduct educational in-services on investigational chemotherapy and clinical compliance.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Current valid Michigan RN license required. OCN certification required within three (3) years. ACRP or SOCRA certification preferred.
  • Two (2) years of progressive oncology research experience preferred.
  • Ability to utilize computer software for data access and input.
