Job Summary

As a Clinical Coordinator in Hematology/Oncology at DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong leader who can coordinate the provision of care, assign and schedule staff, and prioritize patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and experience in a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Function as a lead and resource person for nursing personnel, providing clinical guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with the manager to monitor staffing levels and ensure adequate nurse-patient ratios.
  • Facilitate shared decision-making among staff and improve unit throughput to reduce Length of Stay (LOS).
  • Coordinate and provide in-service programs to enhance staff competence and patient care.
  • Assist with interview, selection, retention, mentoring, and evaluation of staff.
  • Participate in the development of policies, procedures, and standards for the department.
  • Assist with department Process Improvement and Peer Review.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
  • 1-2 years of progressively more responsible experience in a leadership role, with evidence of increasing leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, delegate to others, and facilitate processes.
  • Minimum Level 6 of the Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria, if an internal candidate.
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred.
