Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science or 10 years of equivalent Information Technology work experience with K-12 education.
  • Multiple Years of Experience in Managing and overseeing Technology staff.
  • Working understanding of LANs, WANS, Microsoft Network Operating Systems, VmWare, Fortinet WIFI operating systems, Secure School firewall, SmartBoards, Video Filming, editing, live streaming and Telecommunications.
  • Experience in installation and maintenance of networks, personal computers, managed switches, Smartboards, projectors and other hardware and software.
  • Relevant experience with computer technology, networked information systems and Campus wide (multi building / Locations) Fortinet WIFI systems.
  • Broad knowledge of instructional technology equipment and applications; online services; technology resources and integration of technology across the curriculum.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop long-range plans for technology application in the schools and conduct related budget analysis.
  • Multiple years of experience with HP Chromebook,deployment, configuration, maintenance and repair.
  • Multiple years of experience as a Webmaster utilizing Wordpress Operating System and style sheets.
  • Working understanding of State of NJ DOE and federal reporting including but not limited to NJsmart, NJ Homeroom and other NJDOE school reports.
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Job Description:

As a tech-savvy Administration/Director of Technology, you will provide guidance in the development, execution, and coordination of the district's technology strategy. Your role involves improving teaching through technology across the curriculum and enhancing operational efficiency through smart tech usage in the schools.

To ensure the fulfillment of district tech requirements through comprehensive planning and execution of technology systems district-wide, covering networking, WIFI, telecommunications, and hardware and software resources.


Key Responsibilities:

Collaborating with principals, department heads, subject matter specialists, and educators to establish the district's technology program aligning with state core curriculum standards and educational objectives.

Assessing, evaluating, and proposing new technological teaching materials, methods, programs, and the procurement of computer hardware, software, and other instructional tech tools.

Collaborating with the instruction supervisor and professional staff to incorporate effective tech use across the curriculum.


Aiding in planning and executing the district's tech in-service education program for the teaching staff.

Reviewing and refining the district's tech plan and education program; suggesting adjustments when needed.

Leading the development of district policies concerning instructional technology use, computer software, and online services.

Working with central office administrators and school principals to establish a district-wide electronic information system and providing technical support as required.


Assisting in crafting and coordinating the tech-related sections of the budget.

Supervising and managing the planning, procurement, installation, and maintenance of all district tech environments, such as computer systems, peripheral devices, networks, WIFI, telecommunications, and systems software.


Overseeing district networks; managing WANs and LANs, WIFI operations.

Supervising the district's Google education suite.

Establishing and enforcing security and troubleshooting protocols within the tech setups.

Creating and executing a budget to meet district tech demands, working closely with the business administrator and receiving input from principals and other educational personnel in the district.

Ensuring the smooth operation of all district tech, including prompt service for hardware and software installation, maintenance, and repairs.


Effectively collaborating with district technology users to resolve issues.

Executing any other duties within the job scope and certification as allocated.
